What sets Lindon apart from other studios?

At Lindon, students have the opportunity to go far beyond weekly lessons that revolve around a method book and one end-of-year recital. We have performances every couple of months to build confidence and community and to have fun sharing what we are working on throughout the year.

“Our family highly recommends Lindon Piano Studio. My kids look forward to their lessons and the many performance opportunities. Kacy excels at connecting with each child and adjusting her teaching methods to fit each one. She is very creative with incorporating goal setting, practice incentives, technique, theory, improvisation, and music history. What Lindon Piano Studio offers is above and beyond a basic lesson.”

Each fall brings a new musicianship challenge, where students strengthen their skills through a variety of practice challenges and incentives over the course of the school year (past challenges include Musicopoly, the Great American Road Trip, and Piano Olympics!).

Lindon students have access to video lessons where they can learn new concepts and songs independently. And when they’re away from the piano, there are a variety of musical podcasts and teacher-curated Spotify playlists for exposure to a myriad of musical genres.

“We are so appreciative of all that Kacy and Lindon Piano Studio has done to help our children progress with their piano skills. Kacy is not only a truly talented pianist, but she is a gifted teacher. What is particularly impressive to us is the effort she puts into creating lessons and practice activities that are fun, engaging and innovative. Our 3 children are all at different levels and she is very good at tailoring the lessons to their individual skill sets and interests. Kacy is also incredibly warm and kind. She has high expectations for her students, but her approach is caring and encouraging. We feel lucky that we found her. She’s the best!”

Four times a year we meet up for fun and educational group classes, where we focus on developing musicianship skills like rhythm, ear training, collaboration, performance etiquette, and learning more about our instrument and the amazing history of piano music and famous musicians.

And of course, weekly lessons themselves are fun, with activities like composition, improvisation, theory games, rhythmic exploration, and kinesthetic discovery that allows students to get off the bench and discover music both on and away from the printed page.

“Thank you for the wonderful lessons. The kids seemed to really enjoy them, and I appreciate how personalized they were. The kids never complained once when I told them they needed to take a break from screen time, or whatever else they were doing, and do their music. Amazing!”

Students have the option of taking private lessons, or partnering with a sibling or friend for hybrid lessons that involve both one-on-one time with the instructor and social music-making and learning with another student. Adult students can also purchase flexible lesson packages.
